Shambolically triumphant, Electric Six (formerly The Wildbunch) pays homage to the Barrett/Captian Beefheart/Roky Erikson school of rusted but dusted sonic troubadors with tilted arrangements and wide-eyed confidence. "Don't Be Afraid of the Robot" says it all: acid-fried cold war ominousness just one hit from stoned paranoia; Spencer seethes like a madman, the band mixes dirty needle leads over a shrewd garage shimmy.
